Troon Harbour

Crinan

Located at the Western end of the Crinan Canal this beautiful harbour on the Sounds of Jura is the ideal starting point for exploring the Inner Hebrides with the islands of Mull, Iona and Islay within easy reach along with Oban and Loch Linnhe.

Built to connect the Firth of Clyde with the Inner Hebrides the Crinan Canal, beginning at Ardrishaig on Loch Fyne, supersedes the need for the longer and possibly rougher passage around the Mull of Kintyre.

Troon

North of the town of Ayr and only 3 miles from Glasgow Prestwick International Airport, Troon with it's fishing harbour and yacht marina is an ideal port for the Firth of Clyde with Arran Island close at hand.

Staying localy the town offers several golf courses including the world famous Royal Troon and, for those of a literary bent, the Robert Burns heritage.

The hills of Ayrshire make for perfect walking country and the City of Glasgow is only a short drive away.
